A Seminar organized for Development Coordinators on 14-15 April 2007.This was the first module training of DC's.The subjects of the training were '' Leadership, Communication and Time Management ''

NQS LAW INFORMATION MEETING

Akdeniz University Higher Vocational Education School Organızed 8 th Employment Meeting on 16 March 2007 .The Subject of the panel in the meeting was '' To Provide Continuity Of Employment And To Give Information About NQS Law 5544 '' . Sector and NGO Representatives, Students and University Teachers were the participants. Panelists were; Iskur Provincial Director, Ministry of Labour and Social Security Head Inspector, VET Regional Manager NGO and Sector representatives.

WORKSHOP ON EVALUATION THE SECTORAL QUALIFICATIONS IN THE FRAMEWORK OF VOCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AUTHORITY (VQA)

Workshop organized in Antalya Kaya Belek Hotel by sponsorship of Kaya Group on 16th February 2007. President of Project Coordination Unit, MONE Erdoğan Serdengeçti, Director of VQA Bayram Akbaş, MONE Provincial Director Osman Nuri Gülay, EARGED Deputy Director Osman Yıldırım, SVET Co-Director Osman Yalçın, Key Expert on Education and Training SVET Lars Wilhelmsson, Social Partners, Sector Representatives, Pilot Instituion Managers and University Lecturers Participated in the workshop.

Mone Provincial Director Osman Nuri Gülay and President of Project Coordination Unit, MONE Erdoğan Serdengeçti made opening speaches. After presentations about VQA, questions of the participants answered and discussed in the last part of the workshop.

LABOUR MARKET NEEDS ANALYSIS WORKSHOP

Labour market needs analysis workshop carried out on 6-7 February 2007 in Antalya. Change Agent Teachers and Program Coordinator Teachers of Pilot Instituons Participated in the workshop.Second day of the workshop provincial Vocational Education Board Members and Provincial Employtment Board Members met together. CAT's and PCT's prepared a labour market needs analysis plan and they presented the plan to the Boards Members.After discussions of the plan the workshop ended.

SVET SUPPORTED PILOT VOCATIONAL EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS AND PILOT GENERAL HIG SCHOOLS

SVET gave equipment and supplies support to 11 Vocational Education Institutions and 4 General High Schools in Antalya Region. Total cost of the equipment is 3.2 million YTL. General High Schools supported with IT Lab. office equipment and furniture. Vocational Education Institutions supported with IT Lab. office equipment, office furniture and equipments for the fields and branches decided to support by SVET Project.

OCCUPATIONAL STANDART DEVELOPMENT EVENT

Occupational Standart Development event carried out in Antalya Teachers House on 8-11 January 2007. Occupational Standart Developed for the Entertainment Services Field Child Animation Branch. Sector representatives ( Eda Çelik, Banu Bora, Şengül Karateke ve Evren Esin ), Local Expert ( Atiye Nur Zeybekoğlu Ünal ), from the university and EARGED (Doç.Dr. Bilgehan Gülcan, Taşkın Fırat İnce ), field teachers (Sibel Tosun, Günsel Demirtaş ) participated in the activity.

OCCUPATIONAL STANDART DEVELOPMENT EVENT

Occupational Standart Development event carried out in Antalya Teachers House on 27 November - 01 December 2006. Occupational Standart Developed for Hospitality and Travel Agency field operational staff. Short term experts and sector representatives participated in the activity.

*****PILOT INSTITUTION MANAGERS GOT CERTIFICATES *****

Pilot Instıtution Managers Training started on 9th June 2004 in Antalya Region. Manager Training Program delivered by experts from Aalborg Technical College in co-operation with Turkish education experts.The training program has comprised 160 hours seminar based on tuition and coaching in six modules plus application 350 hours practical work with the topics through five Action Learning Assignments solved in the pilot instıtutions.

The program modules have comprised: Personnel Leadership Style, Strategy And Business Planning, Team Development, Project Management, Human Resourses Development and Final Presentation.

Manager Training Program ended on 10th October 2006 with the final presentations.Each School Manager made a presentation about the activities carried out in their schools during this period in line with the Action Learning Assignements.

In the end of the final presentations a ceremony organized and Managers have got their certificates from Antalya Provincial National Education Director Osman Nuri GÜLAY and Aalborg Technical College Director Michael Johansson.

ANTALYA RAGIONAL ADVISORY COMMITTEE MEETING

Antalya RAC ( Ragional Advisory Committee) meeting held in Antalya TT House.Social Partners,Sector Representatives,Pilot Instıtution and non pilot Vocational Institution Managers participated in the meeting.

Provincial National Education Deputy Manager Isa Güzel made an opening speech.In his speech he stressed the importance of vocational education.

Ragional Manager Durali Bergama gave information about past six months activities and future six months activity plans.

Antalya AOTML Manager Abdullah Durmus made a presentation about accreditation and the activities carried out at his school for this purpose.

Pilot School Managers went for twinning lately made a presentation about good practices they saw at their twin schools or at the other schools they had the chance to see during their visit.

Durali Bergama made a presentation about NQS system and the SWOT analysis results of Antalya and Isparta.

Commitee approved past six months ragional activities and the future six months activity plans.

MANAGER TRAINING

Manager Training Module-5 coaching organized on 22-23 June 2006 in Antalya AOTML Practice Hotel.26 Managers participated in the seminar.

At the seminar each School Manager made a presentation about Communication and Coaching using Compass Dialogue method.

Given information about the final module and the presentations to be made by school managers.

MODULE REVISION WORKSHOP

Module revision activity carried out in Antalya AOTML and Alanya Ümit Altay AOTML Practice Hotels on 12-16 June 2006.Revised module fields in Alanya are;Chemistry and Process,Food Technology,Biomedical,Construction,Public Relations and Organization and Installation and Air Conditioning.Total revised modules are 82.

Revised module Fields in Antalya are;Wooden Technology,Clothing Production Technologies,Handcrafts,Beauty and Hair Care,Entertainment Services and Child Growth and Education.Totaly 72 modules revised.

DISSEMINATION, APPLICATION OF MODULAR TRAINING PROGRAMS

Cat's and PC's participated in the training '' Dissemination, Application of Modular Training Programs'' organized İn Ankara on 29 May- 01 June 2006 . Cat's and PC's will conduct seminars to all Pilot Province Vocational Education High Schools Vocational Teachers, between the dates 5-30 June 2006. Provincial National Education Deputy Director Responsible Vocational Education will Coordinate the Dissemination Programs.MoNE letter is on the SVET web page.

22-26 May 2006 MODULE REVISION

Module revision activity carried out in Antalya Region on 22-26 May 2006 at Antalya AOTML Uygulama Oteli. Revised module fields are; Journalism, Radio Television, Information Technologies and Entertainment Services, 33 Teachers participated in the workshop.

The results of the revision is below:

Journalism : 9 modules accepted, 1 module decided to return to writer for revision.

Radio Television: 6 modules accepted.

Information Technologies : 11 modules accepted,

Entertainment Services: 4 modules accepted, 2 modules decided to give to another writers and 2 modules received too late for revision so decided to revise in the next worshop.

Module revision activity carried out in Antalya Region on 22-26 May 2006 at Alanya Ümit Altay AOTML Uygulama Oteli. Revised module fields are; Shoe Making and Saddlery, Handcrafts, Beauty and Hair Care, Garden Plants, 38 Teachers participated in the workshop.

The results of the revision is below:

Shoe Making and Saddlery : 4 modules accepted, 7 modules decided to return to writers for revision.

Handcrafts: 6 modules accepted.

Beauty and Hair Care: 5 modules accepted, 2 modules decided to return to writers for revision.

Garden Plants: 8 modules accepted, 1 module couldn't be revised.

MEETING ABOUT DECENTRALIZATION OF VET

Meeting held on 07 April 2006 with the participation of social partners.Given information about SVET and NQS at the meeting.Decentralization of VET and certification systems discussed.Report prepared in the end of the meeting to be used as a document in the decentralization issue.

Module revision activity carried out in Antalya Region on 1-5 May 2006 at Antalya AOTML Uygulama Oteli. 33 Teachers participated in the activitiy.,

Revised modules are:

Metal Tecnology: 3 modules accepted, 2 modules should be revised by the writer

Mechanical Technology: 24 modules accepted, 4 modules returned, 2 modules should be revised by the writer

Food and Beverage: 9 modules accepted, 4 modules returned, 2 modules should be revised by the writer

Venue for the second group was Alanya Ümit Altay AOTML 43 teachers participated in the activity .

Revised modules are:

Aircraft Maintenance : 48 modules accepted, 5 modules returned and 13 modules shoul be revised by the writer.

Automotive Technology: 8 modules accepted, 3 modules returned and 1 module should be revised by the writer.

Vocational and Technical English: 9 modules in 5 fields accepted.

Occupational Development: 4 modules accepted.

MANAGER TRAINING MODULE-5

Manager Training Module-5 '' Coaching as Management Approach '' Seminar will be carried out in Antalya AOTML Practice Hotel on 22-23 June 2006. Participants will stay in the School Practice Hotel .

DECENTRALIZATION MEETING

Decentralization and National Qualification System (NQS) meeting held in 7 April 2006 . Social Partners and Sector representatives participated in the meeting. A report prepared about results of the meeting.It's decided to meet more in the future to strengthen cooperation between Social Partners - Sector end VET Schools

Vehicle Maintanence Field: 25 modules accepted, 8 modules returned, 5 modules couln't be revised.

Jewellary Making Field : 12 modules accepted, 2 modules returned, 2 modules cancelled

Food and Beverage Field: 19 modules accepted, 7 modules returned.

Automotive Technology : 9 modules accepted, 3 modules returned.

MANAGER TRAINING COACHING MODULE-4

Manager Training module-4 carried out in Antalya AOTML Practice Hotel in 23-24 Jan.2006.Pilot Institution Managers and Deputy Managers participated in the training.Participants presented their projects prepared according to EU norms.

CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOP

Curriculum development workshop carried out in Antalya AOTML Practice Hotel in 16-20 Jan.2006.45 VET Teachers from different provinces participated in the workshop.They were trained on curriculum development.Participants will work to develop the curricula for 33 extended job families.
